The Rattray’s Carnyx G Natural Churchwarden Ash Pipe is inspired by the ancient Celtic Carnyx—a ceremonial
and war trumpet shaped like a long, curved S and often ending in a boar’s head.
It produced a deep, fear-inducing sound, used in battle and ritual celebrations.
This pipe pays tribute to that dramatic history with its long, sweeping silhouette
and expressive bowl shape.
The letter “G” stands for the integrated graphite inlay in the shank,
a heat-resistant element unique to the G-version Carnyx models.
Made from ash wood with a natural surface and tactile grain structure,
the Carnyx combines historic inspiration with modern craftsmanship.
Each Carnyx pipe includes two mouthpieces:
a long Churchwarden-style stem (~27 cm with the long mouthpiece) for calm,
cool smoking sessions,
and a shorter stem for everyday use.
This dual-stem design allows the Carnyx to function both as an elegant at-home pipe
and a practical travel companion.
Equipped with a 9 mm drilling, polished acrylic mouthpieces
and a metal application, the Carnyx G Natural offers a smooth draw and a visually impressive profile
within Rattray’s Classic Series.
